Shannon Sharpe says Chiefs would be “prohibitive favorites” to win Super Bowl if they acquired Ramsey

There’s not a whole lot to say about this one that isn’t obvious from the title.  If anyone looks at record, history, roster, anything, this is clearly a stretch. Shannon Sharpe is just attempting speak this belief into existence. Yes the Patriots and Chiefs are the top two teams in the AFC, but there is a reason why  the Patriots have been number one in everyone’s power rankings since the season started: they’re better. Their roster is better, they have more experience, and they have won both head-to-head match-ups since Mahomes became the starting quarterback for the Chiefs.

It is worth noting the Chiefs have not even come close to acquiring Jalen Ramsey yet.  The Chiefs’ defensive backfield is quite porous, and one would have to believe Ramsey woud improve their back end. But for now their starless secondary will have to try their best and continue to rely on their offense out-gunning their opponent. Sharpe is on the record saying he just wants to see the dynasty end, and I don’t blame him. I love when people say that. I revel in it.

Update: It’s Early December and the Chiefs never did acquire Jalen. They have had their struggles, but the Ravens have dominated the AFC outside of the Patriots. Jalen was traded to the pretending Rams, who thought they had a shot at reaching a second straight Super Bowl. It will be interesting what happens this offseason as Ramsey is now a free agent. Hopefully he doesn’t go to the Chiefs! Just kidding, I’m not afraid.

Chris Simms amends his placement of Tom Brady in his outrageous top 40 rating… so now what?

After nearly five years of insisting that Tom Brady is “not a top five quarterback” in the NFL anymore, Chris Simms has mostly stood by his take; no matter how undeniably and mind-numbingly misguided it may be. After placing him behind guys like Cam Newton (not playing), Ben Roethlisberger (out for the season), Matt Ryan (18-17) over his last 35 games, and Andrew Luck (0-7 in his career against Brady and also retired), it should be very difficult to take this list seriously even if you are not a Patriot fan. However this list does garner a lot of publicity and popularity.

In one of his podcasts after week two, Simms admitted that he was “dead wrong” about Brady and that he should be ranked at “five or six”. Wow, thank you Chris! Now you finally got it right. Brady isn’t nine or ten, he’s six! What a difference that makes.

But in all seriousness, what does this revision do to the credibility of every other year of Simms’s lists? His main argument has always been that Brady is simply “too old” to be considered the best in the business or even crack the top five. So he was too old to crack it at 39 in 2016 but now at 42 he’s not? Sims has more explaining to do for sure.

In conclusion, his list is mostly gobbledy-gook.

Max “Cliff” Kellerman has completely unsurprising new take on Brady after one game

Patriot fans can’t say they didn’t see this coming. It’s only been about 700 years since Kellerman made the brilliant prediction that Tom would “fall off a cliff” and “be a bum in short order.” (which is the most obtuse way to just say someone sucks). That was on July 16, 2016. Nearly 1000 days ago. Since then, Kellerman has been grasping for straws. Brady has been the opposite of a bum since this scorching take, with three consecutive Super Bowl appearances, two victories, and a league MVP award in the year the Pats couldn’t capture the Lombardi.

This take stems from one game against the Buffalo Bills last sunday, a victory I might add, a game in Buffalo might I add, a game where the Patriot offensive unit could not have been more banged up might I also add. Now, Brady has all of a sudden become a “game manager”. First Take has used that word in such dirty context over the years, I cant help but fell like Kellerman knew exactly what he was doing when he called Brady a game manager. He even went on to compare him to Peyton “dead arm” Manning in 2015. Gimme a break. It feels like Max is still trying to fight a battle he already lost over three years ago.

Here is the video of the original cliff take, because it is so comical at this point.

Tom Brady is the GOAT
Aaron Rodgers is the BOAT

Football season is fast approaching, so it seems like a good time to tell you that Tom Brady could go one-and-done in the playoffs for the next 13 seasons and still have a better winning percentage (.566) than Aaron Rodgers (.563).— Tucker Boynton (@Tucker_TnL) June 18, 2019

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
